After the shenanigans of the 2000 presidential campaign cycle, I wrote this story specifically as a gift for Patrick
J. Buchanan. The process of writing it also served as therapy to help restore my sanity and regain my equilibrium.
As for dedicating my novelette to "Brer Rabbit", that is the nickname that Pat's family gave him because as a child growing
up he could talk himself out of just about any situation or punishment.
Honestly, if I hadn't just watched the 2000 TV mini-series, Arabian Nights, in which Scheherezade had to
continue telling spellbinding stories to the King or die, I probably could not have created my tale. I just continued
on with the cadence of her stories and my narrative fell into place fairly easily.
