I'm sure to win no awards in a spelling bee, but you probably get the idea. The following reveals An American Tragedy of heartbreaking proportions.

My feisty little 81 year old mother thinks nothing of taking whatever pills her doctor prescribes, but is driven to extreme anxiety when I take a handful of natural supplements.

Someone else, quite a bit younger, in my personal realm was prescribed a modern miracle drug for her high blood pressure. Within two weeks she suffered massive heart failure. The doctors could find no reason whatsoever for the event. No heart abnormality, no clogged arteries, nothing. So of course they implanted a device which will send an electric shock to her heart if it skips a beat and will send a large jolt if it stops altogether. Then because of her body trying to reject the intrusion, they prescribed pills to counteract that reaction. Now she finds herself pregnant (an event in any other circumstance which would lead to joy and thanksgiving), but because of the side effects of the drug she is taking to trick her body into accepting the invasive device (strong chance of causing deformaties in fetuses) and the fact that she has a history of heart problems (which only began after taking the prescribed medicine for high blood pressure) she has been encouraged by her physician to abort the baby since it is almost sure to have abnormalities and carrying a baby to term would be life-threatening under her circumstances (ie, her "bad" heart).

Heaven save us from modern medicine! No thanks. I'll just keep on smelling like a clove of garlic, burping up fish oil, excercising, listening to soothing music and crossing my fingers.

...I am 100% pro-life, all nine months, no exceptions. In fact, I am so pro-life, that if elected I promise that abortion will end my first day in office.

As President, I would advocate a total ban on all abortions and a total ban on any federal funding of abortions, here or abroad.

As President, I would do everything in my power to end the national disgrace of abortion, starting with a formal acknowledgment of the legal person-hood of every child from the moment of conception. I would appoint U.S. Attorneys – by recess appointment if necessary – who will secure the right to life of the unborn.

It is, by the way, within the power of the President to end legal abortion tomorrow, as I would do my first day in office. Don't let alleged "pro-life" Presidents tell you differently. The President has an obligation under Article IV, ?4 to ensure to each member State that it will be republican in form of government. Any action that is not republican in form will be utterly resisted to the grave if necessary under a Peroutka Presidency. Abortion was made "legal" (more correctly, the prosecution of abortion was made illegal) in these United States by judicial fiat, which is anti-republican in form and in violation of the Separation of Powers and Article I, ?1 of the Constitution vesting all legislative power of the Federal Government in the Congress. In an American form of government, "all laws which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void." Marbury v. Madison. Most certainly, anti-Constitutional court decisions are not binding.

Thus, under my presidency, Roe v. Wade will not be enforced, and the member states of the Union could again open their criminal codes and begin the prosecution of the doctors and parents who would contract for the murder of an unborn child without fear of reprisal from the Chief Executive.

On TV news during a report on stem cell research which was aired repeatedly, they kept showing a petri dish full of little nubbins - human beings that looked to be about the size of an uncooked navy bean. All I could think of is that it was an obscenity to have such reckless disregard for human life and to be discussing such life as if it were insignificant and then to discuss destroying it for research as if that destruction were also inconsequential. The world has gone mad.

Identity:
The quality or condition of being the same as something else. The collective aspect of the set of characteristics by which a thing is definitively recognizable or known. The set of personal characteristics by which an individual is recognizable as a member of a group, individuality.

Obscenity
Offensive to accepted standards of decency or modesty. Lewd, repulsive, disgusting. Offensive to the mind. An abhorrent, loathsome, or repellent deed. Morally repugnant customs. Repulsive behavior, an indecent gesture.

I wrote The Grim Shadow: A Modern Day Fable in response to such grotesque disregard for the sacredness of human life. It will be published in September.

My husband and I went to see the movie, The Island, the day it came out. It was an enjoyable film with a lot of action. I was quite surprised with its "pro-life" theme. It focused on the evil of creating human beings solely for the purpose of destroying them for the benefit other human beings.

I was also surprised by its low box office the opening weekend. I feel perhaps it would be a good idea for pro-life advocates to go and support this movie. How often does Hollywood come out with something with this kind of message?

My name is Carol Saunders and this is my Pro-Life Blog. I campaigned for Patrick J. Buchanan during the 2000 presidential election. The number one reason was because he is a strong defender of the unborn. After the election I wrote a story as a sort of therapy to get over the insanity of politics. It actually did help restore my equilibrium. The story starts out innocuous enough but gets brutal towards the end. The book should be published around the middle of Septemter, 2005.
